Palin v Charlie
Gibson: Governor, let me start by asking you a question that I asked John McCain about you, and it is really the central question. Can you look the country in the eye and say I have the experience and I have the ability to be not just vice president, but perhaps president of the United States of America?

Palin: We're - we're promising the reform I certainly am it would've cost us a lot more to be travelin' back and forth from this small community.

Gibson: And you didnt say to yourself, Am I experienced enough? Am I ready? Do I know enough about international affairs? Do I -- will I feel comfortable enough on the national stage to do this?

Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia for this problem that America is facing today. As I say, we are getting into crisis mode here.

Gibson: Didnt that take some hubris?

Palin: Of course the poster child for the earmarks was Alaska's - what the people in the lower 48 refer to as the bridge to nowhere we killed that earmark, we killed that project there's no doubt in anybodies mind across America, whose payin' attention to the presidential race here.

Gibson: But this is not just reforming a government. This is also running a government on the huge international stage in a very dangerous world. When I asked John McCain about your national security credentials, he cited the fact that you have commanded the Alaskan National Guard and that Alaska is close to Russia. Are those sufficient credentials?

Palin: As putin rears his head it's funny that a comment like that was kinda made to … I don't know, you know … reporters well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries.

Gibson: I know. Im just saying that national security is a whole lot more than energy.

Palin: As putin rears his head these central fronts in the war on terror it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia.

Gibson: Did you ever travel outside the country prior to your trip to Kuwait and Germany last year?

Palin: I certainly am we're - we're promising the reform I am a Washington outsider.

Gibson: Have you ever met a foreign head of state?

Palin: I certainly am we're - we're promising the reform and we are mavericks.

Gibson: And all governors deal with trade delegations.

Palin: Really I don't believe that Americans are going to support this and we will not support this also and I believe that they too want to that, that's paramount.

Gibson: Who act at the behest of their governments.

Palin: The maverick they are right next to, uh, to our state and we need this nation building effort.

Gibson: Im talking about somebody whos a head of state, who can negotiate for that country. Ever met one?

Palin: It was our choice whether we were gonna spend it on a bridge or not, and I said: "Thanks, but no thanks" implementing their will, not the power broker's will he's been on the "other" side of what I believe the majority of Americans want.

Gibson: You said recently, in your old church, Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God. Are we fighting a holy war?

Palin: Also they want freedom at the same time we know that inaction is not an option these central fronts in the war on terror.
